Traveling Through 2016

Hello friends πŸ™‚

I’m excited for today’s post because I’ve been anxious to reminisce my traveling experiences in 2016. How appropriate “Traveling Through 2016 on Thursday” -okay, cheesy LOL

Traveling is something that fulfills me. I feel so strongly about the fact that there’s SO much in the world to see and I want to see as much of it as I possibly can. I’m blessed that I’ve been to the places I’ve been, seen things I’ve never seen before, andΒ even revisited familiar places- but if there’s one thing I’m greedy about, it’s traveling, I just want more.

Let the wanderlusting begin…

May 2016

LEGOLAND- Somerville, MA

Okay, no I didn’t have to jump on a plane to get here and no, I didn’t have to drive more than an hour (literally 7 min from my apartment in Somerville) but nevertheless, this in itself was quite a trip.

SIDE NOTE: Adults are not allowed into Legoland without a child. Except for, I think, the 3rd Wednesday of the month, it’s adult day. So I got to go with my favorite family; Yi-Ting and Noah and Lauren came along too!

And in conclusion: Legoland is REALLY cool andΒ now I want to go see the one in Florida.

Also, in MAY-

SARASOTA, Fl

5

Kathy (my sister) and I go on a yearly trip to Florida typically around end of May. This year we chose to go to Sarasota. We just wanted a nice beachy relaxing vacation and that’s what we got.

6

We visited 3 different beaches: Bradenton, Lido, and Siesta Key. All Beautiful crystal clear blue water and white sand.

7

We also visited the Ringling Brother’s Museum which was awesome.

JULY 2016

MARTHA’S VINEYARD, MA

Britt and I always celebrate her birthday in MV (although her bday is in June) but MV will forever remind me of Britt. And although this wasn’t our first time at the rodeo, we did explore Chappaquiddick for the first time together. You can read more about MV here

AUGUST 2016

NEWPORT, RI

Also, every year my mom, sister, and aunt go on a little weekend getaway to celebrate me and my mom’s birthday (which are only 2 days apart). This year we chose to go to Newport, RI- which is a place I’m very very fond of.

And then also in August-

NORTH CONWAY, NH

My favorite family; Yi-Ting & Noah, and Lauren all took a trip to North Conway for another long weekend. I’m totally not a mountain kind of girl but holy moly was this place phenomenal. Breath-taking, stunning, and that was only seeing it in the dead middle of the summer. I can only imagine in the Autumn or Winter months how gorgeous it is up there.

I LOVED this post, because I’ve been to every one of these places! πŸ™‚ They’re all wonderful spots, for sure!
And yes, North Conway is breathtaking in the fall. My hubby and I used to go every autumn for our anniversary, and the view never gets old! πŸ™‚

No way!!! So cool, where are you from originally? I can’t believe how incredible N Conway was- I wanted to go back SO bad- I’m going to make it a point to go this coming fall though. I also want to see Mt. Washington this time too, did you go there when you were up there?

I grew up – and still live in – Massachusetts. So I’m a New England girl… πŸ™‚ My family and I would drive up to the White Mountains almost every week when I was a kid, so that we could hike the 4,000 ft mountains. (I’ve been to Mt. Washington, but I’ve yet to hike that one. I have hiked the mountains surrounding it though). It’s definitely a tradition I want to continue as my kids are older. For now though, we usually rent a cabin (or camp) up there whenever we can. It feels like my second home. πŸ™‚ The hotel at the base of the mountain is very impressive, so definitely check that out if you go. πŸ™‚ Did you go to Zeb’s Country Store when you visited North Conway? It’s more quaint and nostalgic than anything else, but I love it. πŸ™‚ Lots of country charm and rustic beauty!

Aww I can totally appreciate fellow New Englanders πŸ™‚ I’m still dying to get up to the actual White Mountains, I hear its gorgeouss- Idk about hiking it though lmao I’m not ready for that. And YES totally went to Zeb’s I heard that was a must go-to while visiting so we made sure to make it a point to scope it out πŸ™‚

It’s definitely been a fun and memorable year of travel. Although, I wish we could switch places, I’d be ecstatic to be able to visit England!!! I’m hoping to make 2017 the year I travel out of the states!! πŸ™‚ *fingers crossed!*

Aw thank you! That’s for sure one of my favorites too, Florida sunsets are always so gorg, but they come and go SO quick. Gotta give thanks to my sister for capturing that! Thanks for reading and for your sweet comment xo

Love this post! And I loved your comments about NoCo! It is funny because I use to hate it, growing up there. but now in my “old age” I can really appreciate it, especially the beauty πŸ™‚
And I loved that you got to explore Maine too! I love it there so much! If you ever have a chance, visit Cape Elizabeth! It is gorgeous! Happy New year and Happy 2017 travels! ❀

Yes! It is! It is literally right next to Portland. Portland Headlight is there, as is Two Lights.
Acadia is gorgeous! I was there a few years ago, but my best friend just bought a house in Bar Harbor so I am planning on visiting her there this year. I am so excited. It is out of this world. If you get a chance I definitely recommend it. ❀

Traveling is so addicting but definitely tough and digs a HUGE hole in my wallet lol why can’t money just grow on trees! You have a Portland too? Does it happen to be by the water like it is here in Maine? Lol

I hope to go to Disneyland in LA by the summer. Hubby and I are planning on it with his sister in law and her kids. So that may be my trip of the year lol.
And yes. Right by the water lol. Although ours is a river and we have like 12 bridges in the downtown area alone lol.
