In honor of one of my favorite holiday’s, I of course am going to dedicate this post to my human; Andrew.
Secondly, I obviously have to post a picture that he weirdly doesn’t like but I just can’t help but to sigh at this 🙂 I mean c’monn!!!
Today I’m sharing how Andrew won me over…
[Okay timeout: in the midst of typing this…these just came in]
That right there is exhibit A. Although I totally see him tonight….”baby, can I get a back rub…I got you those nice flowers” 😉 #iknowyoutoowell
And this right here, is exhibit B:
Pardon my grammatical error(s) there.
Okay well, none of that above was planned to be in this post but a little spontaneity is nice and they happen to smell good too 🙂
So how did Andrew win me over???
1. He’s Thoughtful
Not always, but surely nails its 8/10 times. Which is pretty good for a boy brain! I mean last night after he went to the gym he did a grocery store run and I told him I want Popsicles and a specific bag of chips and I was a little weary that the chips weren’t going to make the cut (he tries to prevent me from eating bad food) but there they were in the paper bags 🙂
2. We Laugh…A LOT
Prior to meeting Andrew, I had gone on dates here and there but it was never anything good or special. Nothing stood out to me and something was lacking but I couldn’t put my finger on it.
Alas on Andrew’s and my first date we were telling random stories back and forth and both of us were hysterically laughing out loud. I mean I swear I think I was in tears from laughing so darn much. The one other person that used to make me laugh that hard was Britt and when I caught myself laughing so much it showed me familiarity…
And it hit me….the difference between Andrew and the irrelevant ones was that he made me laugh. It’s like for some reason, I had forgotten that the one major thing I looked for in a relationship was someone that could make me laugh.
3. Just My Type
I can’t speak for all of you but if you’re like me, you have a type. Boy, do I have a type. I blame the perfectionist Virgo in me but I had a whole list full of things I like and it’s very detailed… My best friends: Britt, Renee, Lauren, Bethany, Beka….etc They ALL know my type.
Needless to say; Andrew is 100% my type. Nailed it.
4. No Matter How We Lay It’s Just Comfortable
This is a huge one for me. Only because through experience I know the difference. You know when you can just lay with someone and snuggle in the most contorted way but it’s still comfortable somehow no matter what…yeah that’s a total must.
There are many, many, many things I could go on about. He’s always eager and down to do things. Whenever I suggest something he always responds with a “we can do that”. He remembers the little things, takes care of me, and has a big heart-literally.
It’s weird because leading up to meeting Andrew and starting our relationship…I always caught myself saying whether to myself or aloud to someone else that the person I’m going to be with is someone I haven’t met yet.
For my lovely singles….The LAST thing I want to share is the moment right before our first dinner date together- I’m talking about 1/2hr-1hour before meeting Andrew for the first time alone (which I’ve told him this already)… I remember sitting in my car at the restaurant that we were going to meet at literally debating whether I should go through with the dinner or not. I mean I was tired after work but more importantly, I hate that initial ‘first date-first impression’ crap, it’s all so cringeworthy. I was running a dozen different excuses through my head to text him, facetiming Lauren, and by then it was so close for him to arrive that I just had to stick it out. And look what happened!
So the moral of the story is for you single ladies…never let an opportunity go. If some kind gentleman is wanting to take you out but you’re too nervous or don’t feel like it- just do it. If you’re meeting someone in person for the first time but have that same ‘I don’t really want to anymore’ attitude (I feel you, it sucks) JUST GO. You never know how it will turn out… And my only love advice that I will stick to each and every time- “you’re gonna have bad ones before you get to the good”
So whether you’re spending your Valentines with your family, spouse, boyfriend, kids, friends, siblings- whoever it may be love them and love them hard!
Sending all my love to all my blogging friends, friends, and family.
