Thoughts and Whatnots: Coffee vs Tea

Hands down the one thing that makes my world go ’round is

COFFEE

Surprise, surprise-  like the millions of other people in the world I can only make it through the day with coffee.

Something about finding a cute little cafe, sipping on coffee, and chatting is one of my favorite leisure things to do.

3

And I’m so bad with it that if I don’t get my coffee by a fairly decent time in the AM I get that awful caffeine migraine.

@Britt I know you feel me.

I don’t discriminate against any cup of morphine (except for the coffee stand in the Logan Airport Spirit terminal- Andrew and I literally can’t even) but yes, I favor certain coffee places over others.

My numero uno in my heart 2

And for anyone that just wants to get me a coffee out of the kindness of their heart I like a TALL VANILLA ICE COFFEE w/ 2% MILK 🙂

Of course my order varies but how do I take it? Typically iced and 2% milk stays consistent.

But-

TEA

Yes, I love tea too. Hot, cold, iced, frozen but one things for sure I only like green tea (preferably matcha) or jasmine. AND how do I take it? Just plain. I know people tend to add milk or honey. None of that for me.1

With the exception of a Black Tea Lemonade or Passion Fruit Tea Lemonade from the one and only…

because YUM.

IF I HAD TO CHOOSE ONE OR THE OTHER?

COFFEE WINS.

Tea is not something I have every day or all that often but if I’ve had enough coffee for the day but still need that caffeine boost- tea it is.

Also, matcha flavored anything is an all day everyday kind of thing.

Alright ya’ll it’s your turn

THOUGHTS & WHAT NOTS…. Are you a COFFEE or TEA person. And how do you take it?

I’m a tea person. Lol. I’m probably part of the 1% that doesn’t drink coffee at all! It does nothing for me lol. I once drank coffee and the effects didn’t kick in until nearly 24 hrs later.. true story. I didn’t realize it was the coffee from the day before.
I do like chai tea, it’s delicious and one of my favorites with honey. I literally buy chai anything now, there’s a chai tea latte drink I buy from the store (I have to look up the name because I can’t remember) and I always get a chai tea smoothie from the mall lol.

That’ so peculiar that the coffee doesn’t kick in till the day after lmao so strange but yeah I feel you like whats the point of drinking it then. I want to like chai tea (lattes) so bad, but Idk I’m not a fan. It may be the cinnamon-y flavor that I dislike. It is cinnamon right? Are you a green tea fan?

It could be, it’s also very sweet which some people don’t like. 😊
And I believe I’ve had green tea before but I honestly can’t remember what it tastes like. I’ll have to try it again but I mean, I do like tea, the chances of me liking it are pretty high 😂

I’m a coffee person! I prefer iced coffee, because I generally prefer cold drinks over hot. I’m not too fussy with how I take it, as long as there’s milk in it, I can’t take it black. I don’t like tea, I agree with Natalie, it tastes like leaf water. I don’t like iced tea either though 😛
Just tastes weird to me. I’ll stick with coffee!

Yupp, iced coffee all the way, I never really thought of it that way but I definitely prefer my drinks cold over hot too which probably explains the favoritism towards iced coffee. But if hot is all they have I can’t say no. Have you ever tried a flavored iced tea? Maybe it’d give it more than just the leaf water taste haha

I’m the same, if hot is all they have, then I will gladly have some. But cold is just so much better to me. You know I haven’t actually tried iced tea…seeing how I like cold drinks better I should probably give them a shot 😄

I’m so picky about teas, if its green I can just have that no problem I love the taste and flavor of it. But for instance if an english breakfast tea is my only option then honey does the trick for me it just helps sweeten it up a tad. Do you at least like coffee?

Ooh this is a hard one! I have always been a coffee person and still am but lately, I have been so much into tea. I kinda drink a cup of tea every morning now. We have bought these tea bags of different flavors from the store and they are so delicious dipped into a warm cup of water. Honestly, I find tea very cleansing – it’s just a healthy detox, especially if you drink it with a warm water 🙂 So, I am 50- 50 on this one ❤

I know I feel you, I can’t help but to love a nice hot cup of tea, its so soothing and relaxing to have. If anything I love a cup at the end of my night (non caffeinated of course) it just gives me these peaceful vibes before bed. I do tea bags too I haven’t gotten into the intricacy of making tea fresh. What brand do you tend to go with?

I love that you did a post on this like – random but I LOVE IT! so you haha!!! ❤ I'm literally forcing coffee down me at the mo in an attempt to be a proper coffee drinker but for now its mostly hot chocolate and tea lol starting off of course with occasional mochas to ease myself in HAHA

Lol I know such a random topic, I was having the talk with my coworker who doesn’t drink coffee at all (they actually prefer hot chocolate or tea instead too) but I was like hmmm sounds like a good idea for a post! But yeah, coffee can totally be an acquired taste depending on the roast, but once you find one you like and how you like it, it makes all the difference!! Proud of you for attempting to be a coffee drinker 🙂 ❤

Ooh there’s so many.. I personally love fragrant tea with a hint of flavour, be it bergamot, lemon or herb.. I’m not sure whether you’ve heard of the Earl Grey brand, they do amazing fragrant tea.. Besides that, I’m slowly steering towards fruit tea which is lovely especially during the hotter days.. Generic black tea is always a must for me especially at work or else I’m a zombie during the day! lol 😩😞

Oh yes, milk is def needed! I couldn’t just have black tea by itself, hmm I don’t know how some of my work colleagues can drink it.. haha! I had to make myself a cuppa after leaving the last comment. Well you have a lovely day x

Okay one thing we acrually disagree on… I’m definitely more of a tea kind of gal but to be honest I’m not a fan of either, if I have to pick a hot drink its always gonna be hot chocolate. I do love Starbucks though, the food they do is actually delicious! Another great post JJ, always so fun to read xx

I love coffee but I typically only have it iced. Iced coffee is my favorite drink of all time! (And I feel like such a traitor, but I actually like Dunkin Donuts iced coffee with caramel & cream more than Starbucks!) It’s so weird to me when I talk to people who don’t like iced coffee. In fact, my husband didn’t like it when I first met him, so on our second date, I made sure we went to Starbucks because I was determined to convince him. He’s totally a convert now!! If I want something hot, I’ll take a chai tea latte…from anywhere, lol. The only other tea I typically like is Snapple raspberry iced tea.

Oh I know I find it so weird when people are firm hot coffee drinkers and I’m like what?!? But let me tell you my favorite Dunks order….CARAMEL TOO but with milk! It’s so good. Even though I love starbs a tad bit more, I can always go for a Dunks iced Caramel swirl too, it satisfies me just the same. But oh my yes Raspberry Snapple….my favorite too, its just so refreshing!

I know right? When people say it’s “too hot for coffee,” all I can think is that they don’t understand coffee, haha. That is what ice is for and it’s amazing! So many people don’t like the Raspberry Snapple either and I just don’t get it, haha, it’s so nice!

I am 100% tea person.. I never drink coffee, it literally makes me crazy, no joke 😂 I can’t handle that amount of caffeine I just turn so hyper that I can’t stay still lol! So tea all the way for me, I also prefer green tea over everything, it’s so good no matter what the flavor is 😍!!

I agree, it depends on the mood definitely. Some days I feel like I really want some tea but then I feel weird betraying coffee lol Those Starbucks lemonades are soooo good though, you’ll love them if you like tea/lemonade!!!

I’m a tea person all the way, my favorites are jasmine and chai tea. I don’t like the taste of coffee so as long as it’s not strong in my drink I’ll have a latte :). I prefer local coffee shops over commercial ones so I’m usually on the hunt for some in my area :).

Local coffee shops are the best and always so darn cute too. I love traveling and exploring different cafes, esp ones that have yummy pastries too! But for comfort I love seeing a starbs in unknown areas, I may not know where I am but I do know I can figure it out with some coffee haha Do you have any good tea brands or jasmine tea?

yes! I switched from Lipton to Numi Tea (it’s organic, fair trade and a healthier option) The tea honestly taste a lot better than lipton too, Yogi Tea is also good too. Yeah I understand familiarity is comforting too.

I love tea and cannot go a day without it! Crazy I never got into coffee considering I used to work night shift at the hospital and do 12 hour shifts without a single cup of coffee!! Maybe deep inside I don’t drink it because I know I’ll get hooked on it right away hahaha do you make your coffee from scratch every morning like with the freshly ground beans or use a Keurig machine?! I’ve used a Keurig for hot chocolate and they’re so convenient!

Oh my goodness, kudos to you for being able to stay away from coffee!!!! I wish I had that kind of self control. But I do love tea as well and the caffeine in tea does the trick for me too. Sometimes I’ll forget and drink caffeinated tea at the end of the night and then end up wide away forgetting that it was from the tea. Which is funny because I always felt like tea never really “woke” me up. And I’m not a hugee keurig fan, I feel like its watered down but it’s Andrews best friend aside from the George Foreman haha xo

I saw on one of your latest post that this thoughst/whatnots posts are a thing on your blog. I really liked this one. I love coffee, I always drink a vanilla or caramel cappuccino, or just a normal one, just depends on where I am. Starbucks is my favorite coffee place, eventhough I only have tried the caramel frappuccino, that also the only thing I drink overthere. I love coffee, but only when it’s sweet. I always put two mini spoons of sugar in it. That’s the same with tea. I love earl grey, strawberry and cinnamon tea. The lipton yellow label tea is also lovely. If I had to choose, I’d choose tea. I’m not addicted to coffee, but it sometimes helps me through the days. Because I drink tea on a daily basis, I’d choose that. It’s also the only thing I drink at work (because the coffee sucks), so I wouldn’t be alive without tea. Oh, and I loved this post Jenny. You should do these more often girly! xoxo

Aw yay Im happy that you like these posts and thank you for participating in them ❤ Oh goodness I LOVEEE starbs fraps especially on a hot day. Sometimes I'll have the urge to get ice cream but instead I'll just get a frap and be totally satisfied. They're so good. I definitely prefer my coffee on the sweeter side too, instead of using sugar though I try to go with sweeter creamers like caramel flavored or something. Do you drink the strawberry tea iced? Bc that sounds soo good and refreshing!!!

I’ve always been a tea girl (stereotypically British, right?) I used to have lots of milk and about 3 sugars when I was younger, but take it black with no sugar now. Green tea is also really refreshing. I love, looooove the smell of coffee and the look of a frothy cappuccino, but I’ve never liked the taste of coffee at all sadly – I wish I liked it! x

Oh yes the aromas of coffee is definitely one of my favorites. I’m proud of you for cutting back on the sugar, I have too. I remember back in the day I would order my coffee “extra extra” which was extra cream and extra sugar- gosh Idk how I did that, I wouldn’t dare drink my coffee like that anymore lol just milk or creamer works fine for me. I’ve never had black tea before, is it generally bitter?

The coffee vs tea debate is something I think about often hahaha – there’s just such a divide usually between people! I’m the opposite to you and have tea every day (usually multiple times hehe) and coffee every now and then. Green tea is so lovely isn’t it! Sometimes if I order it in a cafe it’s a little too strong for my taste but I love having it alongside sushi ❤ Peach or raspberry iced tea is my favourite drink in summer! And iced coffee is always lovely! It's just difficult to have much choice with coffee in terms of beans etc. when you can only drink decaf (yup, you can laugh at me haha 😔) xxx

You totally strike me as an elegant classy tea drinker!!! Green tea and sushi yesss! I love when those Asian restaurants serve tea- so very soothing. I’m a total peach iced tea fan too yumm, peaches are one of my favorite fruits but I do love strawberry and raspberry as well. Oh you’re a decaf drinker eyyy?!! Lol I always used to wonder why people drink coffee decaf but it makes sense that they want that “coffee drinking feeling” minus the caffeine, is that you too?

Ahahaha Jenny you’re making me blush! 😅 Green tea and sushi is such a great combination isn’t it! Yay for peaches! They are so underrated as a fruit… 😮 Hahahaha I am a decaf drinker unfortunately… I get really shaky and anxious if I have too much caffeine! Normally in tea it’s okay as it’s not as strong but with coffee it just gets a little much – I’m so weak hahaha.

I’m a coffee gal as well! It really does make the world go round, haha. I am not too picky about coffee, either. I usually go for a coffee with a bit of half and half. If I’m feeling fancy at Starbucks, I’ll get a vanilla latte! Iced or hot, depending on the season!

I like tea, I just don’t drink it very often. You made me want to try matcha! I’ve never had it before!

This post!<3 ❤ ❤ Oh my gosh you and Sarah (from LifewithLilRed) Are inspiring me to make my own coffee post! Seriously I adore coffee! I can go without my java jolt, I don't get migraines, but I just love what it means to me. Conversation with my baristas or with friends. Channeling my inner Hemingway. And of course what it means if it is hot or cold (so happy to be drinking iced now!) It just gives me all the feels!
I don't mind tea, but I really only drink it, if it is to rehydrate or if I am sick so the warm and fuzzies aren't there like with coffee.
And girl we take our coffee the same way. I always ALWAYS have to have milk in mine, Always! ❤

I just love coffee!!! But not without the cappuccino foam and some added sugar. So naturally I know it’s not good for me. So I drink Green Tea. But when I’m not being conscious about my weight, Coffee is definitely the way to go. Now don’t tell me to ditch the sugar! That’s a no go. I need it in my coffee. Ugh, I gained so much weight when I was in Vietnam drinking their iced coffee!!! So frikkin good!! xoxo Sarah
